1. Introduction
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of ROY AI Legal Intelligence services provided by ROY Legal Inc. ("Company"). By accessing or using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
2. Not Legal Advice
Our services provide AI-powered legal information and analysis for informational purposes only. They do not constitute legal advice and do not create a solicitor-client relationship. You should always consult a qualified Australian legal practitioner before making any legal decisions. ROY Legal Inc. is not a law firm and does not provide legal representation.
3. Fee Reverse Auction & Law Firm Matching
ROY operates a matching platform featuring a "fee reverse auction." When you request a case analysis, verified law firms may submit competing offers (retainer and success fee), and you may compare offers and select a firm. ā¢ ROY only facilitates the match. ROY is not a party to any engagement formed between you and a law firm. The scope, fees, and performance of any legal services are governed solely by the agreement between you and that firm. ā¢ ROY does not warrant the qualifications, service quality, or outcomes of any law firm; responsibility rests with each firm. ā¢ When you select a firm, your name and contact details are provided to that firm as a necessary step to proceed with the consultation. [Platform Fee] ā¢ Clients are never charged any fee for using the reverse auction or matching service. ā¢ ROY collects a success fee from the selected law firm equal to 8% of the retainer and success fee for the matter. The retainer portion is charged upon selection (engagement confirmation); the success-fee portion is settled when the firm actually receives the success fee. ā¢ This platform fee is consideration between ROY and the firm for use of the platform and is separate from the legal fees agreed between you and the firm.
4. Australian Consumer Law
Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any consumer guarantee, right, or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law (Schedule 2, Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth)) or any other applicable consumer protection legislation.
5. Eligibility & User Obligations
You must be at least 18 years of age to use our services. You agree to provide accurate information and to use our services solely for lawful purposes. You may not redistribute, resell, or commercially exploit analysis results generated through our services.
6. Intellectual Property
All content, features, and functionality of our services ā including AI-generated analysis ā are owned by ROY Legal Inc. and are protected by Australian copyright law. Unauthorised reproduction or distribution is strictly prohibited.
7. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be submitted to mediation before the Australian Disputes Centre (ADC) prior to commencing court proceedings in the courts of New South Wales.
